Our other Solutions
Discover our tools that provide you with clear, quantified, and immediately applicable oenological recommendations to make quick decisions and secure your choices regarding the use of wood and tannins, all of this for free.
CUVES:
Simulator & Decision Support
Quick diagnosis of your wines (free SO2, profiles to build) to obtain immediate recommendations on protection, wood or tannin additions, and micro-oxygenation.
AU LABORATOIRE:
Estimate the dosages and calculate your needs.
Carry out your trials with our oenological decision-making kit.
BARRIQUES:
Manage your barrels
Model the wear of your barrels based on a wine and more. Estimate the remaining oenological potential and calculate precisely the regeneration needed to maintain your profiles while optimising your wood investment.
What the barrel diagnostic does
It estimates what a used barrel still has to give, from its age, its history and the profile you are after, and it returns a number of 22 mm sticks to put back into it.
The figure everything rests on
A barrel releases about 60 % of its oenological capital in the first year. Work out the second year, then the third: what is left surprises most of the winemakers we show it to. That single number is why a fourth-fill barrel is a container, no longer an ingredient, and why an insert can give it back a season of usefulness instead of being replaced.
On wine, the equivalences we use are 4 sticks of 22 mm for the equivalent of a one-wine barrel and 8 sticks for the equivalent of a new barrel. These benchmarks were established on wine and do not transfer to spirits.
What it does not settle
It works on averages. Two barrels from the same batch, filled the same way, do not end up in the same state, and only tasting tells you which of your barrels still work and which merely take up cellar space. The tool tells you where to look first.
