What the drop by drop trial does
It tells you what a tannin does to your wine today, on a glass or on a bottle, with an answer within the hour. No maceration, no filtration, no tank committed.
The numbers behind it
Our liquid tannins are at a 20 % concentration, which means 1 L of liquid is the equivalent of 200 g of powder. That is the conversion the trial rests on, and it is also what lets you turn a trial dose into a real cost per hectoliter. The equivalences with chips and staves are published in full in our conversion table.
Why we would rather you ran the trial
We say it plainly: a calculator does not replace a tasting. On a tannin, the drop by drop trial will teach you more in one hour than any simulation, because it works on your wine and not on our averages. It also costs a glass instead of a tank.
